Teaching with IPads

This is a great website that features an extensive list of IPad apps for any subject and grade level. Each app contains a review and is rated out of five stars. IPad apps are engaging for students and make learning fun and are a wonderful thing to use at home and school to encourage learning. I will use IPads in my future classroom by having an IPad center and students will play games on the IPad while they are at the center. I know IPads are not accessible at every school, but I will definitely do anything in my power to get my classroom IPads because I think they are wonderful teaching tools.

A Math Dictionary

This is an awesome website that allows students to find the definition of any word connected to math.The definitions are simplified so students can easily understand the meaning. Each definiton also contains examples and some allow students actually work out example problems using the key word. This website is bright and would be very easy for a student to navigate through. I will use this website in my future classroom when I introduce new concepts and math key words to my students. I will also use this in my classroom when a student is having problems recalling the meaning of a specific math term and will allow the student to find the definiton on the website.

Using Technology to Differentiate Instruction

This is a wonderful video that shows how important technology is in the classroom. Technology allows the student to recive immediate feedback instead of having to wait for the teacher to come to them. It also allows the teacher to easily view the strategies the students are using to solve the different problems and see which students need extra instruction on the specific subject. This video also allows you to see the differences between two math programs, Planet Turtle and DreamBox. I will use this video and information in my future classroom to help me meet the needs of all of my students and develop different strategies to help everyone succeed.
